The 2020 State of Cancer Survivorship
November 4, 2020 at 12 pm ET
To improve our cancer care system, it is important that we understand the evolving views of patients and survivors. Without regularly capturing these perspectives, it is challenging, if not impossible, to advocate for change.
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) conducts an annual State of Cancer Survivorship study to determine patient and survivor attitudes on care, pre- and post-treatment concerns, demographic shifts, and more.
On November 4 at 12 p.m. ET, the COA Patient Advocacy Network (CPAN) hosted National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship(NCCS) CEO, Shelley Fuld Nasso, for an Advocacy Chat conversation with COA Director of Patient Advocacy and Education, Rose Gerber, about the 2020 State of Cancer Survivorship Survey and its implications for cancer care during a pandemic.
Learn about the biggest issues facing patients and survivors in 2020. Do patients feel equipped to make informed care decisions? What are the side effects that patients are feeling? What are the major concerns for survivors, post-treatment? All of these topics and more will be discussed.
This event was part of our virtual CPAN Advocacy Chats series – short, monthly educational webinars on key cancer issues and the policies that impact them. Each month will feature a new topic and special guests joining us. Patients, survivors, caregivers, and other cancer care advocates are all invited to join us for these free, interactive, virtual events!
CPAN Advocacy Chats are regular virtual 30-minute educational conversations about cancer advocacy and policy with a guest speaker invited to discuss issues important to patients and advocates. Summaries of previous Advocacy Chats are available on the CPAN website.
