An electronic health record (EHR) alert identifying patients with high-risk metastatic cancer entering the hospital, followed by a targeted set of interventions, resulted in significantly fewer 30-day readmissions and reduced length of stay (LOS) in a real-world study led by Michelle M. Chin, MS, from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, and colleagues. Findings were recently published in JCO Oncology Practice.
