Strengthen the Vital Connection
Clearview Cancer Institute established its CPAN (Community Oncology Alliance Patient Advocacy Network) chapter to strengthen the vital connection between clinicians, patients, caregivers, and the broader community. As a community oncology practice, Clearview recognizes the importance of collaboration with both patients and clinicians to deliver high-quality, innovative, and compassionate cancer care. The CPAN chapter provides a structured way for these groups to come together, share perspectives, and support the ongoing advancement of community-based oncology services.
Clinical leaders at Clearview understand that advocacy is a critical component of effective cancer care. With the oncology landscape constantly evolving, it is essential for those on the front lines—clinicians, administrators, and patient-facing staff—to communicate the real-world impact of policy decisions to local, state, and national leaders. By elevating their voices, they help ensure that legislative and regulatory actions support the needs of cancer patients and preserve access to care within the community setting.
One of the chapter’s most powerful advocacy moments occurred during its CPAN Chapter Launch event. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and purpose as patients, caregivers, clinicians, and community partners gathered to learn, connect, and engage in meaningful dialogue. The event focused on bridging information gaps and empowering participants through clear, accessible advocacy education. As Clearview introduced new resources developed through its partnership with COA, attendees resonated deeply—patients saw their own experiences reflected, clinicians actively explored how to implement advocacy tools, and seasoned advocates expressed excitement about materials that genuinely addressed the needs of the local community. The launch showcased the collective strength of shared purpose and set the tone for continued advocacy success.
