Dr. Ralph Boccia, MD, FACP, set out to provide the highest quality, cutting-edge care to patients in Bethesda and Germantown, Md. when he founded The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders more than 25 years ago. Now, the practice is advocating to ensure every person living with cancer can access the benefits of independent community oncology.
The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders’ team of experts are dedicated to advancing cancer treatments through their on-site research department. Hundreds of clinical trials at the practice allow patients to access the latest in oncology care and be among the first to benefit. Its findings help the practice identify what works, so they can better serve their patients with new treatments.
The practice’s proximity to Washington, D.C., inspired The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders to launch its CPAN chapter. The chapter plans to blend its convenient location and innovative approach to cancer care to effectively champion community oncology to federal policymakers.
