CONGRATULATIONS TO MY ONCOLOGIST AND FRIEND DR. JUSTIN FAVARO, MD, PhD. FOR RECEIVING THE 2017 PINK TIE GUYS RECOGNITION!

Dr. Justin Favaro hasn’t just been my oncologist for 8.5 years but he’s also my friend. He has been my oncologist since August 4, 2008. I had a recurrence of breast cancer that was diagnosed as Stage IV Breast Cancer that was in my liver. When your doctors call you at home and discuss your health with you himself, that means the world to me. He has always told me from day one “Tonjia we can beat this (cancer) there is too much technology out here.” He is up to date with all the new technology and studies. I recommend him to everybody that is battling the cancer journey. On last Friday I had a PET scan and the radiologist sent him my results. I arrived home at 2:30 P.M. and Dr. Favaro called me himself at 6:10 P.M. That’s not the first time but on several occasions in the past 8.5. years. He discussed a procedure I needed to have done and believe me he put in the orders and it was performed on Monday.

He’s very accurate, persistent, caring, and considerate. And he loves his patients and does everything in his power to provide the best of care. He is an awesome oncologist and friend. It means the world to me. And oh my, not only is he awesome but has a great staff as well the oncology nurses, lab technicians, receptionists, etc. We are one big happy family. They all know my husband and kids by name and their endeavors in life. They ask about my family, friends, and my church events. When I’m at Oncology Specialists of Charlotte, I’m at a home away from home. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I put my trust in God and I thank God for Dr. Favaro for allowing God to direct his path in how to treat me and his other patients. I’m not your typical cancer patient. I apply the medical wisdom and knowledge of Dr. Favaro. And I also believe in Isaiah 53:5, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.”
