Caregiver

My husband Thomas was diagnosed 12 years ago with ductal carcinoma. After having a mastectomy, cancer invasion has reoccurred in four different areas. It has been very difficult each time but with a lot of prayers, the wonderful support of his outstanding doctor, Don Shaffer, and the staff at Northwest Georgia Oncology, and our many friends in the COA network, we have managed to stay positive and hopeful. His nutrition is lacking because he prefers less healthy food while I prefer balanced meals. This is a bone of contention with us so I’ve decided to just leave him alone. He hasn’t experienced many serious side effects so he has been an easy patient. Thank God for this wonderful woman, Susanne Berns, who has been an inspiration to us with her encouragement and friendship. We feel very blessed to be a part of this wonderful group.
