Marcia D.

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Hello, my name is Marcia D’Aprile, I’m a 60-year-old female with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. My story began in 2020 when I felt a small lump in my left groin but it seemed so small that I was doubting it was anything because it seemed so small. Fast forward, months later that lump grew and my PCP checked it out suspecting it was a hernia, I saw a surgeon that same day. The surgeon confirmed I had an inguinal hernia and operated a few weeks later. He found a small mass and biopsied it and called us with the results. He told us he had me an appointment with Oncology Specialist of Charlotte, Dr Justin Favaro. Dr Favaro made me feel at ease immediately, always explaining everything to me and making sure I understood and agreed. It’s like a big family in both offices and his staff is exceptional! If I’m sick or had ER treatment on the weekends, he always calls and checks on me personally. I also know from my support group that my oncologist is administering the same course as the big cancer centers.
