Breast Cancer
I went for my routine mammogram on August 14, 2023, expecting to meet a friend and spend the day at the mall. The results were suspicious, and they called my doctor to order a diagnosis screening and before long it was approved. After an ultrasound and before I left the Coastal Cancer Center, the doctor informed me that I had Breast Cancer.
I didn’t have time to have Breast Cancer! I was going on a cruise from September 3rd through the 14th and immediately after the cruise I was boarding a plane to fly to Colorado for my Grandson’s September 15th wedding.
I squeezed in a Biopsy prior to my cruise and while on the cruise I learned that my lump was malignant1
I kept the news to myself until my 1st Chemo treatment on October 25, 2023.
Following the series of Chemo treatments, I was scheduled for a Mastectomy on February 9, 2024.
My first daily five minute Radiation Treatment was on March 25, 2024 and I rang the bell on May 3, 2024.
It wasn’t a “Walk in the Park”, but with the care of Dr. Dejuania Brown at The Coastal Cancer Center and my surgeon, Dr. George Nicholson, I breezed through my Cancer Journey with the grace that I prayed for.
My network of family and friends were my “Support Team” and I give all praise and glory to God!
