Breast Cancer
I have been a patient at Queens Medical Associates (QMA) since 2010 when I was first diagnosed with stage 3, Her 2 Neu, estrogen-driven breast cancer which spread to the lymph nodes under my left arm. The care I received allowed me to thrive during my year of treatment and for over 5 years after treatment. In 2017, I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in the bone and I take Herceptin, Perjeta, Xgeva, and a hormone shot as my maintenance program. I am once again thriving at my awesome community center and even attended the COA Conference in Orlando, FL a couple of weeks ago, where I had an amazing time and made a new friend who has the same maintenance program as me! We call ourselves Thriving Survivors. My doctor, Dr. Malvina Fulman, has been a rock and source of strength for me as well as my entire QMA family. I cannot stress enough the importance of having a community of medical personnel as dedicated to my survival as I am. They help me to push the boundaries to thrive.
